Privacy
What we collect, why, and what we never do with it. This is a working draft, and the full policy is ratified with the community launch.
What we collect
Public pages require no account and set no tracking cookies. Member accounts store an email address, a display name, and the content you choose to publish. Authentication uses a session cookie strictly necessary for signing in.
Mensa membership data
Claiming a Mensa membership is optional, and you have full access to the community without one. If you choose to claim one, we collect your national Mensa chapter (e.g. American Mensa, Mensa Norway) and your membership id, used solely so the SIG Coordinator can verify the claim against that chapter’s member directory.
- Your membership id is never displayed publicly. It is visible only to you and to the Coordinator/Admin performing verification.
- Once verified, your chapter name (not your id) appears as a tag next to your name on comments and discussions.
- Unverified or rejected claims are never displayed to anyone.
- You can update or remove your affiliation at any time from your dashboard. Removal deletes the chapter and membership id from your profile.
What we don’t do
- No sale or sharing of member data with third parties.
- No advertising trackers, and no profiling across sites.
- No public exposure of your email address.
